Shooting

The shooting began shortly after 9:30 a.m., after the first recess. The girl fired shots at the floor and ceiling with a 9mm handgun belonging to her father, a police officer. The girl banged on doors and showed off the gun to her classmates. She reportedly pointed the gun at one of her classmates' heads and laughed. She pointed the gun at her math teacher and asked, "Are you scared now?" She negotiated with the police for seven hours, demanding that they bring her a teacher named Raquel, saying she wouldn't surrender until she came. Eventually, the girl dropped the gun and surrendered. She was described as withdrawn, shy, with few friends, and very anxious and sad in class lately. One of her classmates mentioned that the girl had been suffering a lot of bullying this week because of a video circulating of her.
