On 21 June 2014, a mass shooting took place at the 13th outpost of the 55th Regiment of the Republic of Korea Army's 22nd Infantry Division in Goseong County, Gangwon, South Korea. The perpetrator of the shooting was sergeant Lim Do-bin (Korean: 임도빈), and after committing the shooting, Lim deserted with a Daewoo K2 Rifle.
