The Battle of Independence Day was a /pol/-led raid on Tumblr in response to their attempt to raid /b/ - Random. It started when in response to the troll blog Shutdown4chan, feminists went on /b/ and began shitposting in droves. This resulted in their being banhammered and the hornets nest that is /b/ retaliating, reminiscent of operation Overlord. Tags for social justice warriors, fandoms, and everyday shit were spaammed with gore, rape, and worse in a successful attempt to decimate Tumblr.
