AI is taking the most needed jobs and doesn't help us at all!

Web Crawlers are one of the very few good automated programs/bots on the internets that don't leave much of a trace after entering a website. They are like paparazzi, their job is to archive websites, photos, links - pretty much anything you can find online. Web spiders are responsible for going through dozens of data sets and saving a ton of important information such as your embarrassing childhood photos and racist tweets you made in the 7th grade.

In the early days of the internets these search engine bots used to collect statistics about the websites they visited, they were available online for everyone to find. Nowadays they are kept secret (most likely by Elon Musk and his boyfriend.) As a result of their creators' laziness, most crawlers download HTML-Only pages.

Search Engine

WebCrawler happens to also be the name of the oldest search engine that no one cares about. This search-site was launched ~30 years ago. Somehow, this website is still online and active to this day.

History

Brian Pinkerton is the dipshit responsible for creating the FIRST EVER Web Crawler in history in 1994 on his daddy's old PC. The purpose for his creation was to collect info from American websites and sell it to the Chinese. Bigger companies, as always, decided to steal his idea and claim it as theirs; And, that's pretty much it.

Improved, Artificial Intelligence Version

AI Web Spiders are a different type of crawler bots. Their job is to collect data to improve AI Large Language Models, find true information for AI assistants, read your porn history to give you better recommendations and to index content.

Google Crawler And ED

Encyclopedia Dramatica's website doesn't show up when searched for in Google by cause of Googlebot (a web crawler made by Google) noticing freedom of speech violates Google's rules and terms of service. It's like that because of their Communist propaganda which doesn't allow anything good to show after people's search for EVERYONE equally, on their watch.
