BBS (Short for Bulletin Board System, was the primitive forerunner to the modern thread-based forum. Oldfags used BBS to to play LORD, Tradewars 2002, and download pirated software and porn before broadband. Back then, it could take minutes to download the most basic low-res shitty porn jpg, which made fapping a more frustrating, but ultimately more satisfying experience.Noone uses them anymore, because they are so Web 1.0 and Al Gore has refused to connect them to his Internets.

BBS's were invented by Kimmo Alm, and all others are actually illegal clones.
